DR. EVERETT CASE

Dr. Everett Case
J. Everett Case II, DMD, was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Case attended the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. While practicing as a General Dentist, Dr. Case has continued to refine his dental skills. He completed the Implant Continuum at Columbia University in NYC, and traveled to the Dominican Republic to place implants through the Dominican Training Institute. Dr. Case is happy to be a part of Charlotte community and is excited to join a team providing the best in dental care to the Plaza Midwood community.

Dr. Case’s journey to dentistry was unconventional. He studied History in undergraduate school and planned to become an attorney. While working as a Legal Assistant in Washington D.C., he started Orthodontic treatment and began to change his smile with Invisalign®. The benefits of dentistry inspired Dr. Case to change course, and he decided he wanted to help others enjoy the same positive experience he had in his own oral health treatment.

Prior to dental school, Dr. Case developed an interest in the research side of dentistry. He worked as a clinical research associate at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. While there, he helped with studies related to TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders in the Orofacial Pain Clinic. He also volunteered with a clinic providing free medical and dental care in Brunswick County, NC, and also volunteered part time at a dental lab in Wilmington, NC.

Following UNC, Dr. Case was accepted into Tufts Dental School. While there, Dr. Case’s clinical work included excellent instruction involving the diverse dental patient population of the Boston metropolitan area.

After graduating from Tufts, Dr. Case continued to build on his knowledge of general dentistry. He enrolled in the Implant Continuum at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, a program accredited by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. This intensive program involved didactic training in the most recent techniques and materials in dental implant placement.

While the academic training Dr. Case received at Columbia was invaluable, he wanted to follow with clinical training from some of the leading dentists in implant dentistry. Dr. Case enrolled with the Dominican Training Institute (DTI), which runs a program out of the Instituto Odontologico del Este (IODE) in the Dominican Republic.

While in the DTI program, Dr. Case’s professors had a combined 30 years of implant therapy and implant placement between them. Dr. Case was able to refine his skills in implant placement, bone grafts, membrane placement, and tissue flaps.

Dr. Case also learned a lot from the Doctors of the IODE clinic. He is grateful to both the staff and the people of San Pedro de Macrois in the Dominican Republic. Without them, the experience for such an excellent learning opportunity, both clinically and culturally, would not have been possible.

Dr. Case enjoys continuing to learn about many different aspects in the field of general dentistry. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Case enjoys fishing, watching football & basketball, gardening, spending time with his family, and going to the dog park with his two beagles.
